Everything people ask us.

What is Reachy, in one line?+

One app for everything your car needs in the city: when to move it, where to park it, what tickets are on it, what the check-engine light means, who to call when it won't start — and a badge so people can reach you when it's in the way.

Where does Reachy work?+

New York City first — that's where we're testing with real drivers. Reach a driver works anywhere a phone can scan a code. Other cities come after NYC is great.

Can I download it today?+

Reachy is opening to New York drivers on iPhone and Android, phone by phone. Get early access and we'll invite you as soon as there's a spot for your phone.

I'm blocked in. Do I need the app?+

No. Point your phone camera at the badge, tap the link and press Notify the driver. No app, no account, no name. You'll watch the alert land, get opened and answered. If nobody answers within 30 minutes, Reachy shows you the next step.

Which languages does Reachy speak?+

English, Español, Русский and ქართული — in the app and on this site. The app follows your phone's language or you can pick one in More → Language. More languages are coming.

Will the other person see my phone number or name?+

Never. The Reacher never sees anything about you, and you never see anything about them. Replies are fixed buttons, so nobody can send you messages of their own.

Can someone use my badge to track me or find out who I am?+

No. The badge holds a random code — not your name, plate, number or address. All someone can do with it is send you "please move your car". You can switch the badge off in a tap, and a lost badge is replaced with a new code.

Does Reachy track my location?+

No. Your parked car, the places you park and your reminders stay on your phone, and we keep no history of where you've been. A place leaves your phone only for a feature you use: an anonymous Live Parking spot (when you park and when you leave), "Find me a spot" (about 100 m, 30 minutes at most), a map problem you send, roadside help, or reading a sign. The full list: Privacy by design.

Why does Reachy ask for location "Always"?+

So your phone can notice when you park and when you drive off, even with Reachy closed. The readings are used on your phone and not sent to us. With "While Using" everything else works; tap I parked here when you park. It uses some battery while you move. More: Why "Always".

Do you sell my data?+

No. Not to advertisers, not to tow companies, not to data brokers. Reachy makes money from Premium, the Reachy Store and partner services — not from you as a product.

How is my payment handled?+

Through a certified card payment processor with Apple Pay and Google Pay. Your card number goes straight to them — Reachy never sees or stores it.

How do I delete my account?+

In the app: More → Account → Delete my account, or email hello@goreachy.com. Your cars, badges, plates and history go with it.

Do I need the dongle?+

No — the map, Reach a driver, ticket alerts and the maintenance log work without it. The dongle adds automatic parking detection, sharing spots to Live Parking when you leave, and car health. On iPhone it's the most reliable way to know you've parked.

Is the dongle safe for my car?+

Reachy only sends read requests — engine on or off, and fault codes. It never clears codes, changes settings, unlocks, starts or controls the car. If your car will sit unused for weeks, unplug it, like any accessory.

Will it drain my phone battery?+

No. Reachy doesn't keep scanning in the background. The phone and the dongle reconnect when the car turns on, so detection stays fast without eating your battery.

What does the dongle see and send?+

It talks only to your phone over Bluetooth and only reads: engine on or off, battery voltage, warning-light codes and a daily health scan. Saved scans go to your account; to explain a code, the AI gets only the code and your car's make, model and year. It sends no location, and we never sell your car data or share it with insurers. More: The adapter.

Will it fit my car?+

Almost certainly. Practically every car and light truck sold in the US since 1996 has the standard diagnostic port, usually under the steering wheel. Electric cars report less, but parking detection still works on most.

Can someone else connect to my dongle?+

Codes from a car that isn't on your account show without any AI explanation, and nothing reaches us unless you're signed in. Reachy's own hardware, in development, goes further: each device gets its own certificate and will answer to the Reachy app only.

How do move-your-car reminders work?+

When you park — automatically with the dongle, or by tapping I parked here — Reachy reads the street-cleaning schedule and the posted signs for that exact side of the block. You get one sentence ("Stay until Tue 11:30 AM") and reminders 60 and 15 minutes before you need to move. If street cleaning is suspended for a holiday, there's no reminder.

How does Live Parking know a spot is free?+

When a Reachy driver leaves — the dongle sees the engine start, or they tap "I moved my car" next to it — the spot appears for a few minutes. It disappears early when another Reachy car parks there. Spots at hydrants, no-parking zones, closures or curbs about to be swept never show.

Why do I have to share spots I leave?+

Live Parking is give-and-take: everyone who sees spots shares spots. It's what makes the map fill up. What's shared is just a point on the curb — no name, no account, no history — and it's deleted after 15 minutes.

How does Reachy know about my tickets?+

We match the plates you add against official public records of parking and camera tickets. Your plate is only used for that — it's never shown to Reachers, never in notifications.

Can I pay my ticket through Reachy?+

Today you pay the city directly — Reachy opens the official payment page with the details ready. Paying inside the app is on our roadmap.

Does Reachy guarantee I won't get a ticket?+

No, and nobody honest can. City data can be late or wrong and signs change. Reachy is a very good helper — always check the posted signs. If you spot a mistake, tap Report a problem on the map and we'll fix it.

How much is Premium?+

$85 a year, locked for as long as you stay subscribed — even when the price rises for new members (regular $120). Less with a partner code in your first year. Less than two street-cleaning tickets.

How many cars can I add?+

Free: 1 car. Premium: up to 3 cars on one account, each with its own badge, plate and reminders. Need more for a business? Write to partners@goreachy.com.

Can I cancel? Do you refund?+

Turn off renewal any time — you keep Premium until the end of the year you paid for. Payments aren't refunded, so start on Free and upgrade when Premium has proved itself.

Will the price go up after I join?+

No. Your price is locked at $85 a year for as long as your subscription stays active, even when new members pay more. Renewal is automatic on the same card; we'll always tell you before a renewal if anything changes for you.

Do you work with fleets, garages or buildings?+

Yes — write to partners@goreachy.com. Fleet tracking with Reachy's cellular + GPS device is on the roadmap.
